# How does the Moescape content-rating system work?

The content-rating system classifies posts, images, characters, models, Spells, and other published material according to how sensitive the content appears.

The rating is a content-safety classification. It is not a score for the quality or popularity of the artwork.

#### Automated classification

When content is uploaded or published, Moescape’s automated moderation system analyzes elements such as:

Clothing and visible skin

Poses and framing

Violence, injuries, or gore

Sexual or suggestive themes

Character age and appearance

Titles, descriptions, prompts, and tags

Profile and cover images

The system then assigns a rating or flags the content for additional review.

#### Human moderation

Potentially sensitive, prohibited, disputed, or incorrectly classified content may be reviewed by a human moderator. Moderators can:

Approve the existing rating

Change the rating

Restrict the content’s visibility

Remove the content

Ban prohibited content

Take action against accounts that repeatedly violate the rules

#### Rating and visibility

A content rating determines where the content may appear and which users are allowed to see it. Visibility can depend on:

The viewer’s age and account information

The viewer’s content settings

Whether sensitive-content categories are enabled

The type and severity of the assigned rating

Whether the content is restricted, under review, or banned

The names and availability of individual rating levels may change as Moescape updates its moderation system. Users should check their current Content Settings for the rating categories available to their account.

#### General rating examples

PG: Family-friendly content without significant sexual, violent, or disturbing material.

PG-13: Mildly revealing clothing, suggestive elements, light violence, or limited gore.

Restricted or higher ratings: More mature content that may have reduced visibility and additional viewing requirements, while still remaining within Moescape’s rules.

Banned: Content that violates Moescape’s policies and cannot be publicly published.

Pornographic, obscene, illegal, or otherwise prohibited content is not made acceptable simply by assigning it a mature rating.

Moescape states that content is initially classified by an automated moderation system, with human review used for potentially problematic content and appeals. Its published policy identifies PG as family-friendly and PG-13 as including slightly revealing attire, light violence, or gore. Content may be approved, reclassified, restricted, removed, or banned depending on the review.
